Trucker Phil Collins said he could hardly believe his eyes when a truck pulled into a bay next to his and he clapped eyes on the image of a much-missed industry legend.
Staring back at him from a specially-designed TS Transport truck was the likeness of the one and only Mark ‘Beasty ‘ Goddard.
Mark was a major inspiration for TS Transport boss Darren Wright and Darren openly states there would be no TS Transport without Mark.
So, when Phil was taking a well-earned truck spot and the vehicle pulled in he admits he was taken aback.
TS had been doing a load out of Barcelona for the first time and driver Steven Towns parked up the Beasty Van in Chateauroux in the Loire Valley.
For Phil the sight of the truck brought back great memories of Mark. Phil’s dad, Paul, was a very good friend of his and often drove his truck for him.
“No matter where he was going, he always had a smile on his face. When he walked into a room he lit it up and lifted everyone. He was just the kindest guy I ever met in my life. It was amazing to see the truck and ‘Mark’ on the side of it.”
